財神到 (2010) - 並不爛

★★★☆☆ 又因工作關係,看了〈財神到〉。一看戲名,心想:又是一齣胡鬧的爛片子。看了影片的頭 15 分鐘,感覺自己好像猜對了。但繼續看下去,卻發覺,它並非想像中那麼爛啊!〈財神到〉集合中、港、台眾明星,是典型賀歲片格局,可是它並沒有典型賀歲片那種 offensive 、「無哩頭」的搞笑(可能對象是大陸觀眾吧)。確切說,它是一齣溫馨的政治正確的劇情片。說到政治正確,多數人都會嗤之以鼻,但我覺得,如果是一些導人向善的政治正確, why not ? 〈財神到〉由三個故事組成。每個故事都有啟示。第一個故事:做人應該只求付出而不求回報,所謂因果不爽,是你的終究還是你的,就算你不求。俗話說,是福不是禍,是禍躲不過。是福同樣也躲不過,不過各位要懂得以福積福,而不是貪圖享福,貪圖享福的果報就是墮落。如何以福積福呢?學財神,適當地派錢嘍。第二個故事其實是一個愛情故事,有點老土,但又道出了一個很多人都知道,但卻不太願意接受的事實:真的愛對方並不代表要擁有對方。第三個故事由財神總管(譚詠麟)親自說法:與其派錢,不如教人賺錢。不知何解,這讓我聯想起中學時期的一條校訓:勞而不獲者有之,未有不勞而獲者也。種瓜得瓜,任何東西,都是要自己去爭取的。 菩薩修行,佈施第一。佈施有三:財施、法施、無畏施。慷慨施財,能讓你得到更多的財富;教人正法、導人向善,能讓你得聰明才智;關愛安慰他人,令人遠離恐怖,能讓你得健康長壽。其實,你不用向外求財神給你財富,你自己就是自己的財神,只要你肯行佈施,錢財福報自然來找你。這是生命的秘密,但相信這個秘密的人不多,肯真幹的人更是少之又少啊!

Taken 2 (2012) - Tired Of It All.

★★☆☆☆ ‘ Taken ’ is a fast-paced, gripping story of well choreographed actions. ‘Taken 2’ is to me very unnecessary, but you know since Bryan (Liam Neeson) has to kill so many to get his daughter taken by notorious human traffickers in the first place, ‘Taken 2’ seems so inevitable. An eye for an eye, that’s their logic. This time, it’s not his daughter being taken. It’s himself and his wife. The way he teaches his daughter to locate him by using grenades is interestingly ingenious anyhow. How those bad asses seem to approach him, get him, and treat him is, however, nonsensical. No way they’d be that careless and lenient while coming up to such a tough and skilled master like Bryan. And the problem above all is, its actions, thanks to the swift cutting, are such a headache. The physical fights are no longer enjoyable but of nausea. If you think ‘Taken’ is terrific enough, then don’t ruin your memory by seeing this one. Truth is, revenge is never sweet. 小桃的奇幻手紙 (2011) - 不要誤解

★★☆☆☆ 發行商拿它跟〈 千與千尋 〉做比較,我想說的是,這不是一部奇幻歷險片,而是一部講述人與人之間,從誤解走向了解的溫情片。假如你抱著看家庭親情片的心態入場,這部動畫片應該會讓你很窩心。一個其實很簡單的故事,片長卻是兩個小時,可見其節奏是何等緩慢,少一點精神和耐性,都可能在中途睡著或離場。影片再次告訴大家:你所見到的,永遠只能是真相的一部分;你無法看清事實的全部,你只看到你想看到的。佛陀說過:我說的法,如手中沙;我未說的法,如地上土。同樣道理:你看的,也如手中沙;你看不到的,卻如地上土。不要總覺得他人是錯的,因為你自己也不一定就是對的。 故事涉及鬼怪,但在戲中他們都是善類,因為他們,小女孩最後才認清了事實,那是一種緣分。現實生活中,經常聽到有人說見到鬼。從佛教的角度看,鬼和人一樣,都是六道的眾生之一。人怕鬼,鬼也怕人,人不想見到鬼,鬼也不想見到人。但有時,我們會和他們 crossover ,那都是緣分和心念在作怪。心念偏邪,就見到三惡道(包括鬼)的東西;心念偏淨,就見到佛菩薩之類的聖者。所謂 Be careful what you wish for ,小心你的心念!

End Of Watch (2012) - A Police Story So Close To Reality.

★★★★☆ ‘End Of Watch’ tells an exhilarating police story in which we ride with two LAPD officers Brian and Mike played by Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena to fight crime around dangerous neighborhoods. They’re like partners, brothers and family. They tease each other, socialize with each other, and watch each other’s back. In a film like this, you’d somehow have a feeling that one of them is going to die in the end for sure. It’s just that you don’t know which one. Yes, your guess is right, but still the ending is kind of a surprise. This film is so much like a reality show filled with nauseous elements of chases, shoot-outs, arrests, and of course offensive language delivered by ruthless scumbags as well as the police. Dirty words are so inevitable right from the beginning to the end. Forget it if you can’t stand it. 寒戰 (2012) - 高質素香港電影

★★★★☆ 〈寒戰〉的劇本嚴謹、一絲不茍;演員出色,人物關係複雜。首次執導的陸劍青和梁樂民,手法成熟,頗具野心。影片雖以文戲為主,但對白針鋒相對,精采萬分,其中兩位警隊高層被請到廉署問話的兩場戲,氣氛營造一流。無奈到最後,枝節繁生,節奏有點凌亂,有草草了事之感。其實整齣戲的節奏頗急速,幾乎沒有讓人喘息的空間,少了〈無間道〉那種動靜得宜的瀟灑。影片對於劉傑輝(郭富城)的私人生活,以及李文彬(梁家輝)和他兒子的關係,著墨甚少,一切留待續集吧。如果〈無間道〉是經典,那〈寒戰〉可以說是一部接近經典的高質素香港電影。 梁家輝霸氣十足,揮灑自如。郭富城成熟內斂,叫人看得舒服。反而劉德華的客串看得我捏一把汗。最大驚喜是李治廷飾演的廉署首席調查主任張國標,坊間說他表現青澀,我覺得他充分展現了「初生之犢不怕虎」的那種熱血沸騰,毫不怯場。〈寒戰〉講的是警隊高層的權力鬥爭,當然也涉及他們的下屬。主角的舞台都集中在其工作崗位上,私人生活方面的描寫幾乎是零,導致人物的呈現不夠立體,有礙觀眾的投入,難以跟戲中人一起呼吸。好戲是好戲,但就是缺乏一種深度。〈無間道〉之所以是經典,除了故事精采、人物刻畫出色之外,它還勾畫了無間地獄般的人間苦況,帶出一種「命運使然、不能自主」的可悲,而〈寒戰〉就沒有這種深刻的哲學味道。 戲中兩次提到前英國首相邱吉爾有關戰爭的名言,這倒讓我想起佛陀的言教: It’s better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles 。如果我們能克服內心的貪婪,所有一切戰爭其實都是可以避免的,但我們往往就是過不了自己這一關,甚至還會麻醉自己說:為了獲得和平,某些戰爭是必要的。這就是貪婪的自我狡辯,多麼可怕。「貪」可以衍生出其他很多恐怖的心魔,人間一切災難皆因此等心魔而生,佛陀的話,可謂用心良苦啊!

Life Of Pi (2012) - Not Only Beautiful.

★★★★☆ Ang Lee’s films always lack surprises. They’re pretty plain and straight. Some find his Oscar winning ‘Brokeback Mountain’ heart-wrenching. I don’t, but no doubt, it’s his best work so far. ‘Life Of Pi’, adapted from Yann Martel’s same titled bestseller, again demonstrates Ang Lee’s artistic way of telling a story with this time terrific use of 3D technology. I consider it the second best of his works. I never find 3D movies necessary or enjoyable. They always give me a headache in fact, but in ‘Life Of Pi’, 3D is not only a bonus, but also a must, so as to better indicate the grandiosity and sacredness of the ocean and skies, and how small and insignificant we seem when we’re stuck in between. This film presents a lot of breath-taking, powerful shots of nature’s beauty as well as its wildness. One of the shots that strikes me the most is when Pi is carried by waves a few feet down below the surface of the ocean. He freezes and stares right up, through the refraction of

Ted (2012) - Feel Like A Nut!

★★☆☆☆ I know it’s personal, but seriously, I hate to see Mark Wahlberg in any comedies. He’s not funny in any sense for God’s sake. As for Ted, certainly not for kids considering the words he uses and acts he does, I don’t find him interesting or adoring at all, though he seems to try to be offensive and sarcastic all the time. The story’s nothing more than a fairy tale, in which the couple manage to live happily ever after, plus a teddy bear. There’re laughs but not so impressive to me. I only remember one about Lance Armstrong’s nut. Speaking of him, I just can’t believe what he reportedly did to himself, and to all of us that admired him. ‘Sometimes you feel like a nut.’ I do, when recalling all the stuff about him. I remember one of my friends said on Facebook that ‘Ted’ made him cry, literally tears down on his cheeks. As I know, he’s not the guy who’d easily shed a tear seeing any film. So I guess it must really mean something to him. Maybe he saw his reflection in it.

Premium Rush (2012) - An Action Film Of Bikes.

★★★☆☆ Action films are usually not without fists or gunfire. In ‘Premium Rush’, there’re no blazes or guns or bombs or whatsoever. It’s all about bikes. A bike messenger named Wilee (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) rushes around the New York City on his signature bike with no gears and brakes. Like he said, he can’t stop. He doesn’t want to either. I guess if you go down the busy streets of New York on a bike like that, and ride like he does in the film, you’ll be killed instantly, no kidding. He’s got a special technique to slow and stop his bike as a matter of fact. See and learn that first for your safety and others’. This is a fast-paced, exciting action film with some bike stunts never seen before. And Joseph is competent in playing a vigorous guy who gets himself in trouble by picking up an envelope he shouldn’t. The chases are thrilling and creative. Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) - The Beginning Of The End?!

★☆☆☆☆ Right, this is episode 5 of the series. If you didn’t see the previous 4, and neither did I, don’t worry, you’ll be briefed in the opening which seems a bit eye-catching in fact with things going backwards in slo-mo. But as it goes on, things get bloody clichéd and routine; the actions stupid and pseudo-stylish; the dialogues dry and tasteless; the story a 90-minute carefree video game. Unless you’re a die-hard fan of the mindless Resident Evil games, I don’t think you’ll feel any excitement about this film. The good always win. The bad always fail. Yes, I believe it’s the law, but it’s really not something necessary to expect in a thriller. No idea how this series could’ve made it so far, but the scariest thing is, part 5 is just the beginning of the end. There’s more to come, y’know? We’re indeed in the belly of a beast!

Argo (2012) - A Terrific Sophomore

★★★★☆ Some films are made to entertain, some to upset, some to agitate and make us learn, some just to test our patience. This is a film about a film being made up with the purpose of rescuing innocent Americans from fanatical Iranian revolutionaries. It’s a political drama based on a true event that works like a terrific action thriller indeed. This film couldn’t have been made possible if not for Bill Clinton who decided to declassify ‘Argo’ back in 1997, a fake sci-fi film production set up in order to get 6 American embassy staff out of Iran peacefully after they escaped the local radicals’ attack on the U.S. embassy in Tehran in 1979. Since they were secret escapees, if they were unfortunately captured, they could be executed without anyone knowing it. Ben Affleck’s Tony Mendez must, therefore, run against the clock with of course a bold heart to get them out of the madness. It takes a lot of proper conditions to pull a thing off. 穿越時空的少女 (2006) - 給時間一點時間

★★★★★ 對細田守這位日本新生代動畫導演認識不多,只知他被譽為宮崎駿接班人之一。過去 7 年間,他只交出 4 部作品,屬於少產。〈穿越時空的少女〉是他的第二部作品,彷彿平地一聲雷,令他聲名頓然大噪。看罷,果然不虛,令人讚嘆。繪畫技巧、人物刻畫和敘事手法都很有自家風格,毫不跟風或索性宮崎駿化。其功力比新海誠和宮崎吾朗強好幾倍,若能保持如此水平,宮崎駿的接班人,我想,非他莫屬。 這又是一齣關於時間的影片,時間真是一種令人著迷的東西。女主角因為一次意外,得到了穿越時空的能力,興奮莫名的她利用超能力,做了一大堆自得其「樂」的事,過程十分爆笑。她如何運用其超能力,恰恰反映了人在青春期的任意、調皮與感性。〈穿越時空的少女〉的那位女生,跟〈 那些年,我們一起追的女孩 〉的那位男生,都是青春期任性妄為的代表,這並不為過,因為那是人生的必經階段。關鍵是我們如何能在錯誤中學習、吸取教訓,漸漸轉化自私自利的心態,最終確立正確的人生觀。「你認為好的事,對他人來說就未必好」,這是點醒女主角的一句話。當然,最初她還不以為然,直至她發覺原來她穿越時空的次數是有限的。 也許你會說,世間的是非對錯,哪有絕對的標準。從世俗的角度說,這是沒錯的,因為大家都以各自世俗的利益為依歸,可是從佛法的角度看,正與邪是有絕對標準的──凡是有助於我們覺悟的事,就是善的、對的、淨的、正的,即使表面上看是多麼的不合理;相反,凡是無助於我們覺悟的事,就是惡的、錯的、染的、邪的,就算表面上看是多麼的合理。覺悟甚麼呢?覺悟「無我」。因此,也可以說凡是「自利」的,都是錯的;凡是「利他」的,都是對的。能覺悟這點,那就不是「穿越」時空,而是「超越」時空了,當然這並不是人人都感興趣的。影片本身並沒有深入探討是非的標準,這只是我的有感而發。但作為一部青春勵志片,〈穿越時空的少女〉絕對是經典,充滿青春氣息,幽默感人、驚喜處處。過程動靜皆宜,襯托青春的衝動與感性。結局出人意表,浪漫感觸。 Time waits for no one ,這句話在影片中出現過很多次。我越來越覺得這多少是年輕人衝動的藉口。隨著年紀的增長,你會慢慢發覺應該 give time some time sometimes 。老子說過:大自然從來不趕時間,但大自然卻能把一切做得圓滿。所以男主角最後對女主角說的那句話──「我在未來等你」─

文雀 (2008) - 班門弄斧

★★☆☆☆ 總覺得片中的配樂跟整個故事很不搭調,但沒有古怪調皮的配樂,〈文雀〉就真的沒甚麼看頭了。劇本其實很乏味,說得好聽就叫有風格,說得不好聽就是沒戲找戲做。影片多取景於香港的西環,富有香港風情,但看到任達華總是白天在了無車輛的西環行車道上踩單車,感覺卻又那麼的不真實,這分明就是拍來參加甚麼電影節的,給外國人看的嘛。杜爺的作品向來都是如此這般,可以理解,受不受落,見仁見智了。戲中唯一的女角林熙蕾,怎麼看都不是味,換成高圓圓的話,那肯定就不一樣了。 「文雀」就是小偷,顧名思義他們只偷 pocket money ,不偷 bank cash 。他們自以為「功夫」了得,卻不知山外有山、天外有天,結果聰明反被聰明誤。這讓我想起莊子關於「有用」和「無用」的觀點,所謂樹大招風、高名喪人,能夠做到大智若愚的都是非神即聖,我們一般凡夫都喜歡「知少少、扮代表」,孰不知看似聰明的往往就是愚類;看似愚蠢的往往就是最聰明的。因此,被人當作「空氣」未必是壞事──他們看不到你,卻不能沒有你,這才了不得啊。 Sorry ,我又扯遠了。總之切記,不要學杜爺和杜爺的「文雀」那樣班門弄斧、故弄玄虛!

Total Recall (2012) - No Character!

★★☆☆☆ Don’t remember if I saw Arnie’s ‘Total Recall’ before. Probably not in full. No interest in re-seeing it either, but I learned that it takes place on Mars according to the original fiction by Philip K. Dick. The new version starring Colin Farrell takes action, however, on apocalyptical Earth. It has a very intriguing opening, but it starts to hypnotize you as it develops with tons of carefree chases and fights. And its ending is certainly a turnoff. It has a little bit of ‘Blade Runner’, of ‘Minority Report’, of confusion about dream and reality. It’s like a hybrid of a little piece of this and that, yet nothing of it really matters. It has no character as a result. I didn’t check out any Colin Farrell’s film ever since his impressive ‘Phone Booth’. This latest effort of his is truly a letdown as I expected something philosophical out of it. Of course if you’re a fan of non-stop actions, it won’t disappoint you anyhow. Arthur Christmas (2011) - In Santa You Should Believe!

★★★☆☆ This is an old-fashioned tale about Santa Claus and his family told in a much sophisticated, sci-fictional way. Not sure how and where he could get so many different types of presents for every kid around the world every year without being noticed, or why he insists to give them out to those good and even bad kids out there without being repaid. Thing is, you don’t have to care a bit about that at all. ‘Arthur Christmas’ is like a hope and faith for non-believers in good human nature. For those apt to look on the dark side of life, it’s a very heart-warming story. Like I’ve said so many times before, that this world is nothing but the reflection of our mind. We’re what we believe in as a matter of fact. If you believe in positive things like you’re here to complete others; to make others happy, your life will certainly shine. If you believe, instead, that killing your enemies is a much quicker way to your heaven, you’ll be rather pathetic without doubt. I wonder, however

聖殤 (2012) - 寬恕與自贖

★★★★★ 韓國導演金基德的新作〈聖殤〉,贏得今年威尼斯影展的最高榮譽金獅獎。金導之所以出名,皆因他每一部作品都在挑戰傳統的道德觀念,當中不乏性與暴力。看過他的〈 春夏秋冬又一春 〉,以富詩意的畫面講輪迴和業力,教人看得唏噓無奈,但個人觀感則屬一般。〈聖殤〉是一齣令人不安的電影,這裡所說的「不安」有一定的正面意義,它的確發人深省。我深深體會到導演拍這部影片的目的,不是純粹為了讓他自己或我們過把癮,而是要控訴不公的社會,警醒自甘墮落的靈魂。 說到暴力,低手只懂血淋淋地呈現暴力,令人噁心反感;高手則把暴力留給觀眾的想像力,令人看得打冷顫。就暴力畫面的處理手法來說,〈聖殤〉絕對是高手,它帶給觀眾的衝擊和震撼,比金導演過往的作品有過之而無不及。其中有一幕講兒子嘗試性侵害與自己失散多年的母親,看到這裡各位一定譁然,但如果繼續看下去,你會發覺整件事情的背後,原來有更驚人的內幕,懸疑的劇情教人越看越心寒和窒息。漸漸的、你會覺得自己好像不是在看一齣電影,而是一幕幕真實可怕的地獄景象。 故事圍繞一個幫財務公司追債的「人渣」,和一個自稱是「人渣」母親的女人。說他是「人渣」一點都不為過,因為他追債的手法無情,逼得債仔非殘即死。他會變成這樣,除了是因為抱著「對別人仁慈就是對自己殘忍」的錯誤觀念,我想更主要的原因,就是他缺乏母愛,所以母親的突然出現,確實為麻木不仁的他帶來重生的希望。但希望歸希望,一切都並非想像的那樣。在金導演的鏡頭下,那片混亂齷齪的貧民區,那班被資本主義逼致絕望的邊緣人,那種種因為錢而引發的惡行,那種缺乏愛與信仰的空虛人生,簡直如同地獄。所謂「依報隨著正報轉」,正報就是你的心,依報就是你所處的境,心境如何,周遭的環境也必如何。天堂和地獄向來都只是一念之間。怨怨相報,毫無自省,所造就的一定是地獄般的痛苦;只有寬恕自贖,放下仇恨,才能獲得真正的幸福。 但,無論是寬恕自己,還是寬恕他人,向來都不是一件容易的事。那位母親,其實她知道自己所做的一切,對於一個自小缺乏母愛的人來說,是多麼的殘忍,可終究她還是敵不過心中的恨。而那位「人渣」,雖然受到母愛的短暫洗禮而最終醒悟,但同樣也敵不過心中的恨──他無法原諒自己曾經為他人帶來地獄般的折磨。佛陀說過:如果你的慈悲不包括自己,那你的慈悲是不完整的。在悲愍他人的時候,在自贖的道路上,我們常常忘了自己也是一條

★★☆☆☆ Said that there’re twists that are gonna shock you. Well, I could find nothing shocking, or anything there to be called a twist in fact. I knew right from the first glance that she’s a he. If you don’t, you’re probably gay. Sure you’ll have a better experience of viewing if you don’t know anything about it beforehand, like who’s the director, what’s the story, and who’s who in the film. Also said that it’s the most talked-about movie ever. Well, I don’t think there’s anything to talk about really. In short, it’s a fairy tale about a man of kindness born into a world of madness. Arbitrage (2012) - A Man Too Rich To Fall

★★★★☆ Having not seen Richard Gere in any film for years, I remember the last time I saw him was in 1996’s crime thriller ‘Primal Fear’, in which he plays a lawyer pathetically fooled by his client. That film has one of the most jaw-dropping twist endings ever. Go check it out if interested. In his latest ‘Arbitrage’, Gere is the one to fool those that trust him. Honestly, I don’t know much about hedge fund, stock exchange or stuff, but this is not a film about that really. It’s all about a man too rich to fall; too successful to go behind bars. And you know there’s no one better than Gere at playing a mature, charismatic character holding dangerous secrets and lies in fact. ‘You’re not my partner. You work for me. Everybody works for me.’ Robert Miller (Gere) shouts at his daughter after she finds out that he cooks the books so as to be able to sell the company and cover the losses. People may dislike his everybody-works-for-me attitude, but I can’t see anything wrong about

★★★★☆ 記得小時候,看過一部叫〈大蓬車〉的印度片,故事說甚麼早就忘了,不過記憶中,印度人非常非常喜歡歌舞。往後,就幾乎跟印度片絕了緣,直至 〈作死不離三兄弟〉 ,讓我對印度片完全改觀。〈追擊枕邊謎〉也是一部印度片,中文譯名再次讓人摸不著頭腦,更讓人摸不著頭腦的是劇情,因為當你覺得漸漸摸著頭腦的時候,其實你是摸錯了頭腦。 一個女人大著肚子,獨自從倫敦跑到印度的加爾各答,一下機就打出租,不是回老家或去酒店,而是直奔警察局,古怪?對,她不是去度假,而是去尋找失蹤的丈夫。在尋夫的過程中,種種證據顯示她的丈夫從未踏足當地,不過有人告訴她,她的丈夫很像一個人,而那個人是當地政府情報機關想幹掉的人物。事情變得複雜,涉及的人一個個被殺掉,尋夫婦人的生命也開始受到威脅,尋夫不獲,反而被人利用,情況變得越來越悲觀……影片的前四分之三可能會讓你昏昏欲睡,一大堆對話不斷轟炸你,可是最後的結局會完全把你炸醒。你不得不稱讚編劇的高明,原來我們所看到的、所猜測的都只是一廂情願。 〈追擊枕邊謎〉的劇本非常嚴實,幾乎沒有破綻,觀眾只會被牽著鼻子走,不到最後根本不知到底是怎麼一回事。這都歸功於導演說故事的技巧和選角的恰當好處。人看事物難免都喜歡先入為主,導演正是利用我們這種弱點,讓我們「自食其果」。欣賞本片的配樂,很有現代感,卻不失印度本土風情。導演用鏡頭帶我們穿梭加爾各答的大街小巷,原來印度人真的很喜歡喝奶茶,當地交通真的很混亂,環境真的很齷齪。畫面剪接快速,感覺很 MV ,我看得有點頭暈,對我來說,這是該戲唯一的缺點。不像〈作死不離三兄弟〉,本片沒有甚麼說教,也沒有甚麼深刻的含意,純屬懸疑娛樂片,包你看得「 O 大嘴」,當然前提是,你要頂得住前半部分的「催眠」。 電影本身就是不真實的,〈追擊枕邊謎〉告訴我們:甚麼是不真實中的不真實;甚麼是謎中有謎;甚麼叫順水推舟、將計就計。影片雖說沒甚麼深度,但大家看完,還是可以學到一點東西的: Don’t judge a book by its cover. Seeing is not always believing 。

念佛如何才得力

佛教法門無量,都講求自力,修「戒、定、慧」,唯獨淨土法門講求他力,依「信、願、行」。信,就是相信。你是否相信有極樂世界,有阿彌陀佛,念佛能往生,這全視乎你宿世的善根如何。善根足,則一聽就信,且毫不懷疑;善根少,則無論如何也不信,寧信其他且藐視此殊勝法門。因此深信念佛必定往生的人,都是多善根之人。 接著就是願不願的問題了。為何念佛人多,往生人少,歸根究底就是關鍵時刻不願意跟佛走。很多人口說願意,可真正佛來接引的時候,心還是不願,對這個世界還有所不捨。作為念佛人,要做好隨時隨地跟佛走的準備,以這種心態來念佛才得力,才是真正的信願念佛。要時刻默想:我佛號念完,如果佛來迎,我能毫不猶豫地跟佛走。而不是說:等等,我還有漂亮的衣服要買,還有精采的電影要看,還有財產要分配,還有老爸老媽沒人照顧……如果對這個世界還有任何執著,那往生肯定沒你的份了。所以我每次念佛,都抱著念完就斷氣往生的決心與願望。佛號念完氣斷了,立馬跟佛走,氣沒斷,就繼續做利他的工作;每晚入睡,我都希望佛來接我走。無論生活是苦是甜,念佛人都應該抱著這樣的心態念佛,如此才算真正的「願」。 「信願」足,則「行」得力。行,就是持名稱念佛號。真正念佛人,應該時刻把佛號放在嘴上,把佛放在心上,把這個世界的一切看淡,我們的目標是極樂世界,因為那裡有諸上善人,那裡沒有苦,也沒有樂,所以才叫極樂。更重要的是,我們可以一生成就,真正有能力和智慧去幫助我們的家親眷屬,以及所有苦難的眾生。

只想跟佛走

生日(10月13日)又要到了。記得我寫過一篇文章 「生日快樂」 ,告訴大家其實生日並不值得慶祝,因為你出生那天,確實給很多人帶來了痛苦、煩惱和擔憂。而對你自己來說,生日也意味著老、病、死等一切苦的開始。如果你真的希望快樂,真的關愛你的眷屬,則應當發願求生極樂淨土,不要再生娑婆,不要再給自己和他人製造痛苦! 年過八十的佛門大德淨空法師講過一段他個人的經歷:本來幾年前他就應該跟佛走的,當時佛問他還有沒有甚麼放不下的。他回答,甚麼都沒有,只想跟佛走,不過他也加了一句,說如果佛還希望他再留幾年說法教化眾生,他也接受,說完他就醒了。現在他雖然年邁,還不辭勞苦地宣揚念佛法門,實在慈悲。「只想跟佛走」是一句很感性的話,也只有真的「信」,真的「想」,真的「願」,才能跟佛走。我也很想快點跟佛走。現在走在街上,我看不到樂,只有種種未成熟的苦;知道人人都在奔波勞碌地追求幸福,但在這個世界,他們決定找不到;看到打扮光鮮的男女,我已不羨慕,反而疑惑為何他們要浪費那麼多的精力和錢財,去裝飾這身臭皮囊……越來越覺得這個世界很奇怪,裡頭的人很苦,可惜他們沒有一點覺悟。 我的出生為媽媽帶來痛楚之餘,也帶給她一生的擔憂。我不想媽媽再輪迴受苦,但每次勸她念佛,她都反叫我不要那麼沉迷。每次聽到她這麼說,我都很痛心,也更加強我求生西方淨土的決心。我知道我只是凡夫,能力有限,只有往生阿彌陀佛淨土,一生成就,我才能真正幫助媽媽,以及所有一切跟我有緣的眾生。我想快點跟佛走,不是為了自己,而是為了他人。 我希望能在夢中遇到佛,然後跟他走,不用再醒來,或許我沒有如此的福報吧,但這就是我往後的生日願望了。或許,我今生的業報未盡,還有日子要過,還有苦要受,但無論以何方式,我都只想跟佛走!阿彌陀佛。

Looper (2012) - A Nearly Perfect Finish!

★★★★☆ ‘Looper’ is a time-travel sci-fi thriller, a pretty ‘realistic’ one with no show-off special effects but a seemingly prefect script to impress. When it comes to time-travel, things could get rather tricky and complicated, as you know it’s logically impossible but we always seem to be amazed. I tried to figure out its flaws, but couldn’t. The narrative itself simply overwhelmed me. The story’s set in between 2044 and 2074. Joe (Gordan Levitt) is now (2044) a looper, kind of a hitman that doesn’t have to be skilful actually. All he has to do is to be at the right place at the right time to shoot the target, tied and hooded, sent from the future (2074) without any hesitation. A looper is officially laid off when he shoots himself dead like he does to other victims. That’s called ‘closing the loop’. One day, Joe wakes up to do the routine, but this time he hesitates since the target is not hooded, and he recognizes it’s himself 30 years from now, old Joe played by Bruce Wil

老實念佛

美國棟篤笑明星 George Carlin 有一句發人深省的名言: When you’re born you get a ticket to a freak show 。 Freak 說得「潮」一點就是「騎呢」的意思。我們來到這個世界,目的就是欣賞一場「騎呢秀」。佛法說,這個世界只不過是我們的心識所變現,為何這個世界所發生的壓根兒只是一場「騎呢秀」?因為我們都是「騎呢人」──我們都在做一些自以為能得到幸福快樂的苦差事,而且樂此不疲,迷惑而不自知。 以前我提過,我的上司是一個虔誠的基督教徒。有一次他見我面有苦色(其實我只是在想事情),過來安慰我說:有甚麼問題我可以幫你解決。我說:不用,你還是用心解決你自己的問題吧。他說:我的問題都交給神,我不用擔心,我專門幫人解決問題,不過你們佛教徒好像都注重自力啊!我明白他的言下之意,也開始思考自力和他力的問題。 沒錯,佛陀是強調人可以靠自己的努力去覺悟真理,悉達多太子示現成佛的含意也是如此,但佛陀也沒有否定他力的需要,要不然他就不用宣說《阿彌陀經》,苦口婆心地勸大家念佛,依靠阿彌陀佛的加持,往生淨土了。佛陀深深明白在末法時期,眾生靠自力成就幾乎是不可能的事情,所以當他覺得機緣成熟了、可以宣說《無量壽經》的時候,他特別容光煥發,對阿難的提問也讚其功德不可思議。佛陀講經說法 49 年,他等了又等,等到大家的根性都成熟了,才宣說難信之法──念佛法門,希望大家都能信願念佛,往生阿彌陀佛淨土,一生成就,他不希望我們再兜冤枉路。 佛教有很多法門,這些寶藏都是佛陀留給後世不同根性的眾生的,多數法門都只適合上上根性的人,像甚麼禪宗、法相、天台、華嚴等。不過,就算入這些法門而開悟了,並不代表就成佛了,你還得悟而起修,還未超越三界,還得輪迴,來世還有可能迷惑墮落。唯有淨土法門適合一切根性的人,而且有保障,有效果,老實念佛一定往生,一定得渡,如此簡單。正因為如此簡單,所以自以為有點智慧的人難信、藐視它,以為那是不識字的老太太修的。難道你的智慧超越舍利弗和文殊菩薩?連他們都讚嘆念佛法門並信受奉行,你還有甚麼理由懷疑和拒絕呢? 得人身,難;遇到佛法,更難;信佛,更加難;信念佛可以往生,難上加難。皈依已有一段時間,學佛已有一段日子,越來越覺得自己的願力非常不足,很難超越業力,我想各位佛子也有同感:明明不想做的事情卻做了

消失的子彈 (2012) - 成佛與公義

★★★☆☆ 不要拿〈消失的子彈〉跟〈神探福爾摩斯〉比較,兩者在格局和風格上都是兩碼事。當〈神探福爾摩斯〉已經變成熱鬧(或者說胡鬧)的動作片時,難得看到如此冷靜、重劇情的推理電影。劉青雲的演繹依舊有說服力,謝霆鋒也收斂了誇張的表演,順眼了很多。那樁案子也並非那麼撲朔迷離,結局也並非那麼出人意表,只要多加留心,在電影的開頭已有暗示。警探郭追(謝霆鋒)頂撞上司說:不是沒有證據指證他(犯人),只是因為他是有錢人的兒子。這讓我想起「我爸是李剛」事件。當公義變成只是有錢人的玩意,你會怎麼做? 戲中劉青雲飾演的政務警察,喜歡到監獄去訪問犯人,因為他相信人性本善,想知道好人為何會做壞事。假如人性本來是善,為何這個世界有壞人?假如人性本來是惡,這個世界為何又會有好人?其實,人性根本沒有所謂的「本來是善」或者「本來是惡」,如果有,那好人永遠不會變壞,壞人也永遠不可能變好。人性雖無本來善惡之分,但人皆有善的趣向,因為人皆追求幸福,在有選擇的情況下,沒有人喜歡作惡,帶著愧疚過生活。 經論說:人皆有佛性。如果人「本來」具佛性,那我們還花那麼多時間和精力去修行幹嘛?反正遲早成佛,作惡作善還有關係嗎?修行也成佛,不修行也成佛,那還需要修行守戒嗎?其實,「人皆有佛性」意思是說,人皆有成佛的願望或趣向,因為沒有人喜歡受苦。人人都追求安穩自在的生活,而安穩自在的生活須建基於平靜、理性的心。試問一個情緒經常大起大落的人,何來的幸福生活?問題是,世人追求的所謂幸福都是基於一些無常的物質(條件),而成佛的結果是得到一種不基於任何條件的幸福。假如問你:是否願意成佛?你未必想,更可能反感;但如果問你:是否想得到一種無條件拘束的快樂?你一定想。但其實兩個問題的意思是相同的。錯誤理解「人皆有佛性」,就會覺得佛陀在自打嘴巴,因為這和他宣說的「無我」觀念是相違背的。慧能大師的「五自性」只是方便說而已,大家想得到真正的幸福,還須付出相當的努力。 這部電影有說教的地方,我很欣賞。兩位主角最後大談公義,誰是誰非?我覺得,你可以去追求你所謂的公義,但前提是,不能犧牲他人的性命與自由。真正的公義應該不參雜個人價值的,可世上沒有不參雜個人價值的公義。我們生活在一個沒有「公義」的世界,這是事實!

The Pirates Band Of Misfits (2012) - It's All About Dodo!

★★★☆☆ ‘The Pirates! Band Of Misfits’ is a well made, entertaining piece of clay animation that is getting rare nowadays while computer animation is all the rage. The truth is however, I’d definitely not check out things like that myself if I didn’t have to watch it as part of my work. There isn’t anything quite interesting until Charles Darwin pops up in the middle, right, the British naturalist who came up with the theory of evolution that somehow explains how we’ve got here so far, if you believe so of course. Don’t get it wrong. This is not a film to mess up with the ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ series. It’s all about Dodo, an extinct bird that’s to reflect the good and ugly side of human nature. ‘The Pirates’ makes fun of things in the Victorian era, such as Charles Darwin who looks like a chimpanzee only looking forward to getting laid, and Queen Victoria herself who turns out to be a pirate-hater. She’s every inch a bitch to be honest, to want to catch Dodo for her crazy

盜賊門 (2012) - 勁!

★★★★☆ 〈盜賊門〉堪稱韓國版〈 Ocean’s Eleven 〉,我覺得有過之而無不及。過之,是它的動作場面。別誤會,〈盜賊門〉並非動作連場,它和〈 Ocean’s Eleven 〉的格調差不多,大家都是「口水多過茶,講多過做」,演員從頭 chok 到尾,真真正正的「搏殺」只有幾場,但就是那幾場,包大家看得熱血沸騰,目瞪口呆。槍戰聲效真實得令人屏息,一定要在戲院裡才能感受到;飛簷走壁式的追逐戰壓迫感十足;還有那幕撞車場面,鏡頭並非擺在遠處,而是擺在車廂裡,效果非常震撼。 看罷〈盜賊門〉,我對導演佩服得五體投地,雖然我不知道崔東勛是誰,以前也應該沒有看過他的戲,但透過這部戲,可以知道他講故事技巧一流,動作(大)場面的處理超班,絕對是一位難得的商業片大導演。戲中,他加插一些回憶片段,交代角色之間的恩怨情仇之餘,也令故事增添懸念,不到最後都不知結果如何,過程中也不乏笑料,讓大家笑著緊張。看這部戲,猶如參加聯合國大會,有說英語的、韓語的、日語的、國語的、粵語的,但在導演精心安排下,各人都有戲份,都能自然地溝通無礙,而觀眾也不會覺得是亂來。唯一彆扭的地方就是安排一些韓國人去演廣東人,還要他們扮講廣東話,要是把這個細節都做好了,那這部戲就 perfect 了。如果你迷韓星,你應該認得戲裡那班「韓賊」,我不是,所以我只認得 全智賢 和李政宰。今日的全智賢已經不是昔日「野蠻女友」,戲裡的她十分「驚艷」。 一個人所看到的,永遠只是他所喜歡看到的,或者是他所相信看到的。換言之,他永遠不能看到整個事實的真相,而只能是事實的一小部分,這是我看完這部戲後的一點啟發,多少跟劇情有些關係。看這類純商業娛樂片,其實不須太用腦子,以輕鬆的心情入場,你將帶著滿意的笑容離開。

屯門青山禪院

9月8號星期六,我和阿媽帶著各自的煩惱去參觀屯門的青山禪院。當天我們在荃灣眾安街(千色店對出)搭乘57M巴士,於青雲鐵路站下車。下車後沿路牌指示走便可。 上山的路旁都有大樹遮陰,所以不怕曬 路也不陡,算是好走,大概走半個小時左右 半路有一座亭,來歷閣下自己看了 青山禪院算是位處偏僻,就算是假日也少有人至 所以環境幽靜,如果你怕「寂寞」,最好找個伴兒 經過那座亭,再走一段路就可見到這座牌坊 去禪院不遠了 「回頭是岸」,您想回頭嗎? 終於到了 一入門就見到土地爺,民間很受歡迎的一個神明 敬個禮吧 「菩提薩埵」梵文音譯,就是菩薩的意思,聖人也 巴西龜疊羅漢,它們都是被人遺棄的 希望它們來生都能投生善道 青雲觀及隔壁的五德堂 入青雲觀就見到諸天寶殿 諸天寶殿,顧名思義當然是供奉各位天神的 嚴格來分是屬於道教的東西 民間已經把佛道都攪混了,通通都拜 有殺錯,不放過,圖個心安,保佑平安吧 把他們看作是有福報的天神就可以了 這些才是傳統佛教的東西 大雄寶殿對面的護法殿 大雄寶殿內的諸佛 還有坐落一旁的達摩像,禪宗祖師啊 據說他曾經在此住過 紀念懷渡禪師的牌坊 青山禪院也是因這位有名的禪師而聞名的 牌坊兩旁很有意思的對聯 懷渡禪師像 據說這個洞就是他以前修行的場地 果然是高人,至少他不怕被東西咬 要知道,山林猛獸多啊 少見的佛塔 人為何有煩惱?根本都是來自我們有分別、有比較的心。如果心能知足,就不會起煩惱,所以煩惱都是自找的。雖然我的生活不算富裕,但起碼頭腦還算正常,有手有腳,可以工作,不愁吃穿。生活太好未必是好事,因為它會使你墮落,讓你迷戀輪迴。我以前逃避煩惱,現在擁抱煩惱,它讓我生起出離的心,一種往生彌陀淨土的決心和信心,這是一種真正的善報,它是任何名與利都無法相比的。「煩惱即是菩提」,不假啊!
