Takers - Don't Take It!

 (2010) ★☆☆☆☆

'Takers' are by no means ruthless. They don't kill (the innocent) for money though all they want is money. That's why they've got to plan well beforehand and act fast, fast enough to make the police look like a joke. It reminds me of another heist classic, Michael Mann's 'Heat' (1995), a much more spellbinding crime drama that lets us experience the ambiguity of what's good and evil, right and wrong, salvation and self-destruction.

'Takers' really gave me a headache since the cameras shake a lot deliberately so as to, I guess, make it look more real and exciting, but all I can feel is the opposite. The story itself is so much of a cliche that I don't feel engaged at all, except for the Parkour scene near the end, that could be considered the highlight of the film, but somehow doesn't seem to fit in the whole picture. And thanks to the lousy score and editing, this film is but a worthless piece of cinema, or say, a right example of how a crime drama goes wrong.
