Death At A Funeral - Just Kidding!

 (2010) ★★★☆☆

Don't worry. There's no death at this funeral. There're only laughter, weird family members, an unexpected visitor, dirty jokes, secrets, lots of misunderstandings, and most importantly, a bottle of Ecstasy.

I haven't seen a comedy for long, and I don't really like to as a matter of fact, coz most of the comedies appear to be full of meaningless jokes and gags that are by no means funny to me. This one however, seems to be able to make a joke out of something serious like a funeral. How could a funeral be turned into something laughable? They need competent comedians like Chris Rock; a dead body not really dead; a secret too gross to be revealed; a visitor too short to be ignored; and Ecstasy mistaken as tranquilizers.

It's interesting, but not so funny and touching as the British 'Four Weddings And A Funeral'. I guess I shouldn't have made such a comparison since one's a love story and the other's about death. Hang on, is there a romance too? An unbelievably shocking one? Life's not always what it seems. That's why we have to improvise sometimes, don't we?
