Blade Runner - Oops! A Classic?

 (1982) ★☆☆☆☆

To me, the only Sir Ridley Scott's film that can be considered a classic is 'Alien'. Maybe you'd go for his Oscar-winning 'Gladiator', but that's just not my cup of tea.

After creating the bone-chilling Alien, he tried to show us the philosophy and perception of 'Blade Runner', that is, however, a letdown indeed. I can't see nothing special about it. No twists, no thrills, no exciting chases, no spellbinders (Oh, yeah, there is an interesting scene showing how Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) uses a photo analysis machine to track down one of the replicants). So if you suffer from insomnia, it could be a good choice to ease you pain. There might be some sorta great message behind, but I just couldn't get it coz it zonked me out from time to time. Man, if you like, Steven Spielberg's 'AI' would be much more thought-provoking, touching and gripping.

Blade Runner is neither cult nor commercial to stand the test of time I guess. Maybe I'm too dumb to understand what moral it was trying to convey, or maybe it's the dumbest movie Ridley Scott has ever made (anyone who disagrees, please drop your comment below). Oh, I forgot to say 'Sir'. No offence!
